Treasure hunter Ben "Finn" Finnegan (Matthew McConaughey) has sunk his marriage to Tess (Kate Hudson) and his trusty boat in his obsessive quest to find the legendary Queen's Dowry. When he finds a vital clue that may finally pinpoint the treasure's whereabouts, he drags Tess and her boss, billionaire Nigel Honeycutt, along on the hunt. But Finn is not the only one interested in the gold; his former mentor-turned-enemy Moe Fitch (Ray Winstone) will stop at nothing to beat him to it.

Matthew McConaughey, whose continuing Hollywood career deserves a separate chapter in any future book by Richard Dawkins on the non-existence of God, is reunited for this romcom caper with Kate Hudson, herself uncompromisingly abysmal in everything.

I'm not sure how fools gold got 11% as its great Fun, silly, lighthearted and very easy to watch. If you want to unwind and relax this movie will go perfectly well

Some of the funniest parts is when Ben sinks to the bottom of the ocean with the anchor around his ankle and he's trying to hop free. When Finn is trying to convince Tess that he's changed. She asks a senior to borrow his Cane. And then uses it to hit Finn. When Finn is trying to come up with the plan to get a new boat. And Finn's lost and thought. He walks right past the bad guys and they don't even notice. This movie has a lot of slapstick comedy. And a lot of physical comedy. But it's definitely LOL. Donald sutherland plays the part of Nigel Honeycutt. Nigel's Botched English accent is hilarious. Kate Hudson has good comedic timing. This movie is a laugh-a-minute movie. A lot of fun to watch.

This movie is dumb fun and light-hearted. It's got some action, comedy and a storyline that is predictable but still entertaining to watch till end. Don't understand the harsh reviews. This movie has a special place in my heart.
